The Light of the Night
The light of the night
Awakens the mind
As a dreadful fight
It’s a one of a kind
The horrors it brings
As anxiety sings
Its painful sting
Draws tears of suffering
The light of the night
Seizes all time
With worries in sight
It’s rife with all crime
Rot dread, it inflicts
A bloodbath to see
Emotions in conflict
Ravaging what makes me
The light of the night
Burns dark into day
Dreams of ripe fright
Suddenly decay
Our spirits arise
From day until night
But the dark of the day
Eclipses back out of sight
The light of the night
Intends to stay
But the light of all lights
Will surely repay
